Punggol West LRT (29/06/2014)

Punggol West LRT started operations on 29 June 2014, of which, 3 of the 7 stations have opened for service. This is the first time LRT trains started running on the West Loop ever since the completion of the LRT line back in June 2004. Nibong, Sumang and Soo Teck were the first LRT stations on the West Loop to be opened in a uni-directional manner. Trains will run in an anti-clockwise direction from start of operations to 3pm. From 3pm onwards they will run in a clockwise direction till end of service. The remaining stations will open up in the future when the area starts to be built up. Currently, the stations are located at remote areas or open fields far from any residential or commercial areas.
