Driving on Bloor from Kipling to High Park

September 21, 2026 - Note: the timestamp is one hour off. This video actually begins at 17:42 (5:42pm) I had to drive to an appointment ($15 for parking??) and on the way back decided to take Bloor Street to see what rush hour on Bloor in Etobicoke was like. I'd hoped to get there closer to 5pm, but I still didn't think the road would be this empty at 5:42. I guess it isn't really rush hour here, eh? I couldn't see any evidence that the bike lanes were slowing down cars or "creating more traffic" or "causing congestion" from inside my car. I was a little under the speed limit the whole time, and the only time I had to stop was for red lights, so who can really complain about that? The parking spaces along Bloor Street were mostly empty and hardly anyone was walking either. If Ford really does start reconstructing this road in the next two weeks you will absolutely see congestion during construction (You can check out one of my earliest videos on here to see what it was like when the bike lanes were being installed). But when they're finished I don't think anyone is going to see any improvements.
