Bodycam: Florida Deputy Caught Joyriding City’s UTV without Permission

Bodycam footage shows police confronting three men accused of joyriding a Pensacola city-owned UTV in December. Authorities said one of the suspects, Danny Contreras, was a Baldwin County Sheriff’s deputy. Contreras told an officer that a man he didn’t know told him he could take the vehicle and that it would be “funny.” The deputy and two other suspects were placed under arrest. On Thursday, Baldwin County Sheriff Hoss Mack said Contreras, a police officer, pled no contest to charges related to taking a vehicle without permission. Contreras called it "a stupid mistake" and was suspended without pay for 30 days before returning to patrol duty. His charge was reduced from vehicle theft to trespassing, a misdemeanor. Contreras was referred to a pre-trial intervention program after pleading no contest.
