Day 7 — The Road to Positano | Long Circle South

After two days waiting for rain that never really came, Long Circle South moves again — south through Lazio and into Campania. The day starts perfectly: blue skies, dry roads and 27°C. Then the navigation sends me onto tracks that simply don’t exist. Locked gates. Dead ends. Gravel climbs. More than once, a fully loaded 400 kg BMW has to be unpacked and physically turned around on narrow uphill sections. Decision made: no more tracks. Back to real roads. And then the Amalfi Coast appears. Cliffside curves, tunnels through rock, villages stacked above the Mediterranean and the descent toward Positano. Suddenly, all the frustration disappears. This is the road I had been chasing since Basel. The navigation failed. The road did not.
