Istanbul’s €100 Million Mansions 4K | Yeniköy Bosphorus Villas & Restaurants at Night, Sarıyer

Join me for a 4K night walking tour along the Bosphorus, from Yeniköy pier down the shore to İstinye Marina , one of the quietest and most expensive stretches of the European side, where the restaurants stay lit long after the rest of Sarıyer has gone to sleep. The walk starts at Yeniköy İskelesi, the old Bosphorus pier, under the plane trees of the little square beside it, where İskele Restaurant has been serving fish since 1949. From there we follow Köybaşı Caddesi, the shore high street of Yeniköy, past warm-lit terraces, meyhanes, cafés and fish restaurants , Azur, Fettan, Apartıman, Küfelik and the bars that stay open until the early hours. Köybaşı is also a street of yalıs, the wooden waterfront mansions of the Bosphorus. Right beside the pier stands the İkiz Yalı of 1906, designed by the Italian architect Raimondo D'Aronco. The walk ends at İstinye, where the road curves around the bay to the marina. The boats are moored where the İstinye shipyard used to be — it opened in 1912 and closed in 1991, and the marina's address is still officially the "old shipyards district". At night it is almost silent, with the yacht lights doubled in the water and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge lit up in the distance down the strait.
