Welcome back! Today we are going to maintain the steering gear of my Mercedes W201 190D. As sometimes the power assisted steering is a bit hard to operate when the car is not moving, I thought it might be a good ideas to change oil and filter of the steering gear. Already did that a couple years ago with my Mercedes W126 500SE. Of course you may do it properly on a car lift and drain the system completely. As I do not have such a lift and had no desire in breaking something by loosening those plus 30 year old connectors, I drain the system with a syringe and repeatedly flush it. Again and again.
