David is a British poet, artist and founder of the music group Current 93. "I have been a devotee and admirer of the Servant of G+D, John Bradburne, for very many years now, and carry with me always a relic of his robe. I was honoured beyond words to be asked by my friends at the JBMS to be filmed reading a poem by him as part of the forthcoming celebration of his Centenary." Video is by Ania Goszczyńska CLOCK-WATCHER (1972) by John Bradburne The daedal stars go down the sky, the night Decides to yield her sable shield to dawn And sacrifice her jewelled splendour bright To light-shafts that are masters of the morn; Hues of huge merriment & due discretion, Fair rainbow colours & their merging parts, Owe to the day their showing & procession And pageantry for holding high the hearts; No night-gaze ever rainbow has beheld, Never did lawn blaze Emerald at Mars, Albeit Venus gay may Green be spelled Her touches grace not Earth, much space them bars: The spectrum haunts me till the vesting Priest Shines on his ark Aurora in the East.
