Torrens Luxury Collection proudly presents to the Australian market the award-winning GALILEO 182′ Picchiotti, an exceptional long-range explorer superyacht purpose-built for global adventure without compromising luxury, comfort or timeless style. Delivered in 2011 through a collaboration between renowned Italian shipbuilder Perini Navi, naval architect Philippe Briand and Vitruvius Ltd, GALILEO was designed for owners seeking genuine expedition capability paired with refined superyacht living. Her exceptional pedigree has been recognised internationally, winning the International Superyacht Society Award and becoming a finalist at both the World Superyacht Awards and ShowBoats Design Awards in 2012. DESIGN & EXPEDITION CAPABILITY Purpose-built for some of the world's most remote and extreme cruising destinations, GALILEO combines serious technical capability with luxurious onboard comfort. Constructed with an AMS Ice Class IB steel hull, she features an ice-reinforced structure designed for polar and extreme cruising environments. Her expedition-focused design includes heated deck equipment, wave-breaking foredeck architecture, ice knives fitted to the rudders and durable Nibral propellers for demanding waters. Redundant engineering systems allow single-engine "get-home" operation, enhancing reliability and fuel efficiency during long-range expeditions. SeaTel satellite systems support navigation above 70° North and South, while advanced FarSounder sonar technology enhances underwater awareness in remote regions. Having circumnavigated the globe twice, GALILEO combines AMS Ice Class IB capability with an impressive 9,000-nautical-mile range. Her proven international charter history includes remote dive expeditions, surf adventures and off-the-beaten-track cruising itineraries, establishing GALILEO as a highly successful global charter platform for adventure-focused ultra-luxury travellers. INTERIOR & ACCOMMODATION GALILEO accommodates up to 12 guests across five elegantly appointed cabins. Her warm and inviting interior combines timeless craftsmanship with contemporary refinement, with neutral tones, Indonesian-inspired detailing and carefully curated finishes creating a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. Her full-displacement hull provides exceptional onboard comfort with outstanding noise and vibration insulation for smooth and remarkably quiet cruising. A fully redesigned lazarette completed during her 2023 refit provides enhanced access to dive equipment, surf gear, gym facilities and additional adventure toys. PERFORMANCE & ENGINEERING During her 2025/2026 refit period, GALILEO received significant technical investment, including: • Complete rebuild of the port engine • Top-end overhaul of the starboard engine • Installation of a new air conditioning system • Completion of her comprehensive 15-year survey These upgrades further enhance her reliability and long-range cruising capability. THE OPPORTUNITY GALILEO represents a rare combination of award-winning design, genuine expedition pedigree, global cruising capability, luxury accommodation and proven international charter appeal. Equally suited to private ownership or luxury charter operations, she offers the opportunity to explore extraordinary destinations from tropical island chains and remote dive locations to surf destinations and polar regions.
