But what happened after the child prodigy grew up? From childhood performances at court to love, rivalry and an unfinished Requiem, this episode explores the life behind the familiar melodies. Join music educator Zhang Laosi for a biography of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, featuring the Turkish March, the “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” Variations, Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Symphony No. 40, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute and the Requiem. We also look at Mozart’s relationship with Antonio Salieri, distinguishing documented history from later legends. This video is narrated in Mandarin Chinese. These are artistic reconstructions, not original historical images. Letters are paraphrased in Chinese. Later recollections and legends are identified in the narration. Mozart left the Requiem unfinished; the traditional performing version includes completion work by Süssmayr and others. #Mozart #ClassicalMusic #MusicHistory
