Fit hikers will work hard, and anyone out of shape should expect frequent breaks. The trail passes the Sierra Club Ski Hut at 3.3 miles, a solid rest spot before the final push. The summit is Mount San Antonio, the highest point in LA County at 10,064 feet. This route requires good fitness and is best done in summer and fall when snow and ice aren't a factor.
