Modded Waygood-Otis Traction Elevators @ The Queen Mary - Long Beach, CA

The Queen Mary is a now permanent docked ship that was built in the 30’s in Scotland. This ship has many elevators throughout, most of which were originally installed by Waygood-Otis, but just about everything has gone though atleast one mod. Many elevators are defunct, and only one bank remains in public service on the actual ship. One bank of public elevators really isn’t enough at all, and to make matters worse, the right car was broken during this visit. This particular bank was modded by O&W at some point. The original cabs are beautiful, and they are in great condition. These run alright, I would say it’s the smoothest ride ever, but not super rough either.
