Improved varieties of Groundnut and their characteristics

In Chittoor district Groundnut is the major crop. Due to lack of awareness farmers are growing old varieties which are susceptible to drought, pests and diseases and are low yielders. Now a days many improved varieties of Groundnut are released by Research stations which are tolerant to drought, pests and diseases and also high yielders.
