It boasts a superior geographical location, bordering Conghua District to the east, Baiyun District to the south, Nanhai and Sanshui Districts of Foshan City to the west, and Qingyuan City to the north. Huadu is not only a significant transportation hub, home to one of China's three major aviation hubs, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, and Guangzhou North Railway Station, forming a comprehensive transportation network integrating conventional rail, high-speed rail, intercity rail, and metro, but it is also a vital corridor connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with inland China. The history of Huadu dates back to the 25th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1686) with the establishment of Hua County, named after its proximity to Mount Hua. In 1993, it became a city named Huadu, and in 2000, it officially became a district of Guangzhou. The district covers a total area of approximately 970.04 square kilometers, administering four subdistricts and six towns, with a permanent population exceeding 1.6 million. Huadu District has distinct industrial characteristics, with the automobile industry, leather goods, and jewelry as its three pillar industries. Its automobile industry base and the Shiling International Leather and Leather Goods City are renowned nationally and internationally, earning it the title "Leather Capital of China." Furthermore, the airport economy and hub economy are also key areas of its development.
