Kaydee Waited Alone at Nest… Then Shadow Arrived — And Everything Changed | Big Bear Eagle Watch

Shadow and Kaydee began their Big Bear morning with chortles at the Roost before heading in different directions. Kaydee made a brief stop at the Nest, then joined Shadow at the Lookout for another duet before they both disappeared from view for much of the day. Late in the afternoon, Kaydee returned to the Nest, but instead of working, she stayed in one spot for nearly 30 minutes, looking around as if waiting for something. Then Shadow appeared — and everything changed. Kaydee immediately began nest work, Shadow joined her, and the two shared a series of tender moments — gentle beak touches, preening, and plenty of closeness. After several quieter days, these sweet exchanges were a welcome sight. By evening, Shadow and Kaydee were together again at the Roost. No chortles tonight, but after an afternoon like that, it was certainly a good day in Big Bear.
