They never made the front pages. They never wanted to. While Glasgow's razor gang wars of the 1930s filled the newspapers and made the city famous across Britain, the gang that would eventually dominate the north side for three decades built its power in silence. The Maryhill Fleet took their name from the industrial canal barges that once defined their district, and they turned that working-class inheritance into the most organised, most feared street gang the north side of Glasgow had ever seen. In this video we go deep into the full story. From the canal docks that created the culture, to the 1960s hierarchy that a undercover researcher documented at serious personal risk, to the devastating shift from razor warfare to heroin distribution that tore the gang apart from the inside, and finally to the modern family feud that brought the Maryhill name back into Scotland's courtrooms. This is not a story about random violence. This is a story about what happens to a community when industry disappears, when the structures that gave men purpose collapse, and when the only institution left standing is the gang on the corner. Blood and Concrete covers the gangs, the crimes, and the streets that mainstream history forgets. Subscribe and hit the bell so you never miss an upload.
