GWR full journey London Paddington to Hereford 24/07/2026

Journey onboard 800313 as the 1W01 0952 London Paddington to Hereford calling at Reading (1015 to 1019), Oxford (1043 to 1046), Hanborough (1055), Charlbury (1102 to 1103), Kingham (1111 to 1112), Moreton-in-Marsh (1119 to 1120), Honeybourne (1130 to 1131), Evesham (1137 to 1138), Pershore (1144), Worcestershire Parkway (1150 to 1151), Worcester Shrub Hill (1200 to 1201), Worcester Foregate Street (1203 to 1204), Malvern Link (1212 to 1213), Great Malvern (1215 to 1216), Colwall (1221 to 1222), Ledbury (1228 to 1229) and Hereford (1248). Oyster cards are not valid, however contactless PAYG is valid but only between between Paddington and Reading. The reason why I stood in the doorway this time was because it was full and standing before the train left Paddington, as we have a walk-on railway in the UK, meaning that you can practically board any train without a reservation. You still need a valid ticket to travel but no reservation, although reservations are recommended. The only trains in the UK with compulsory reservations are Caledonian Sleeper and Eurostar, meaning that if you don't have a reservation for those trains, you won't be able to travel, instead having to wait for the next available train. Upgrading to first class onboard GWR? The most expensive is £70 during the week or £45 on weekends between London and Penzance, however between London and Hereford it's actually £55 during the week or £25 on weekends, rather than the £60 that I claimed.
