Historic Canals, Demolished Landmarks, Christmas Lights & George Square Join me for another immersive 4K HDR Glasgow walking tour, as we explore a fascinating mixture of Glasgow's industrial history, changing city centre and the first signs of Christmas arriving in Scotland's largest city! 🎄🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Our journey begins at the beautiful Speirs Wharf, a peaceful stretch of Glasgow's historic Forth and Clyde Canal. From here, we pass Speaker Martin's Lock, before heading towards Cowcaddens Subway Station and continuing along Cowcaddens Road. As we approach Renfield Street, we discover another major change to Glasgow's skyline — the demolition of the former newspaper headquarters of The Herald, Glasgow Times and The National. Once an important part of Glasgow's newspaper industry, the building is making way for a new development. Continuing through the city, we reach the famous Sauchiehall Street, before making our way towards St Vincent Street, where Glasgow's restaurants are already embracing the festive season! Beautiful Christmas lights, sparkling decorations and welcoming restaurant fronts bring a little seasonal magic to the streets. ✨🎄 Finally, we arrive at George Square, the historic heart of Glasgow, where major redevelopment works are transforming one of the city's most recognisable public spaces. With new landscaping, paving and seating taking shape, we capture another chapter in Glasgow's continuing transformation.
