Leader in Me Assembly, Parent Lighthouse Team & a Fat Bear Champion | School Update, October 2

Our first Leader in Me Assembly of the year put scholars in the spotlight on Tuesday, September 29, and our Parent Lighthouse Team met for the first time on Thursday, October 1. Fat Bear Week has a champion too: Bear 89, known as Backpack. Mr. Lis has your update from TMSA Charlotte-Concord Elementary, with one of our scholars and one of our parents in their own words. DATES TO KNOW • Mon, Oct 5: Fall Individual Make-Up Photo Day, 8:30–9:30 AM, for scholars who missed Picture Day • Oct 5–9: Book Fair in Room 121, open 7:30 AM–4:00 PM. Parents are welcome to shop during the school day with a photo ID. • Thu, Oct 8: Book Fair Family Night, 5:00–6:30 PM • Fri, Oct 9: Last day of the first quarter. The Spirit Blanket Sale ends; the order link is on ParentSquare. • Tue, Oct 13: Report cards go home • Wed, Oct 14: Vision to Learn gives every student a free vision screening at school. That evening, the TMSA Fall Festival runs 4:00–7:00 PM at the TMSA Charlotte secondary campus. LEADER IN ME • September: Habit 1, Be Proactive. Character trait: integrity. • October: Habit 2, Begin With the End in Mind. Character trait: respect. • Families who would like to join the Parent Lighthouse Team can find the sign-up link on ParentSquare. REMINDERS • Please park only in marked spaces. The lanes along the front sidewalk stay clear for fire trucks, ambulances, buses and vans. • Club and tutoring pickup is at 3:45 through the carpool lane. Please be on time: a late pickup can cost your child a spot in the club. Thank you to Ms. Taylor, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Reid for putting the assembly together, to our teachers for choosing and presenting every certificate, to every parent who came to the first Lighthouse Team meeting, and to Ms. Buchanan for a Fat Bear Week our scholars loved.
