What does it take to build a democracy where all of us have a voice—and the power to shape our future? On October 15, 2026, Women’s Fund SouthCoast brought together leaders, advocates, young people, and community members at the Zeiterion Theatre in New Bedford, Massachusetts, for “Women, Power, and the Future of Democracy.” Watch a conversation about reproductive justice, immigrant rights, and the role of women and young people in building a more just and inclusive democracy. FEATURING • Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell in conversation with Christine Monska, Executive Director of Women’s Fund SouthCoast. • A panel moderated by Dr. Laurie Nsiah-Jefferson, featuring Loretta J. Ross, Marielena Hincapié, Massachusetts Senator Lydia Edwards, and Melanie Edwards-Tavares. • “Standing in Our Power”—a closing call to action from youth leaders Piper Reis, Elizabeth, and Duyen Le. This gathering reflects Women’s Fund SouthCoast’s year-round commitment to advancing gender, racial, and economic justice through research, grantmaking, advocacy, and leadership and civic power. Thank you to the speakers, sponsors, community partners, volunteers, and everyone who helped make this evening possible.
