Hiking Moro Rock Trail | Granite Staircase Summit | Sequoia National Park | 4K HDR

A real-time visual record of the 350-step granite spine ascent and panoramic summit views over the Great Western Divide. This silent, full-length POV video documents the out-and-back climb of the Moro Rock Trail in Sequoia National Park. Starting from the Moro Rock parking area at 1,995 m (6,545 ft), the route covers 0.6 km (0.4 mi) round-trip, ascending roughly 55 m (180 ft) along a narrow granite ridge to reach the summit at 2,050 m (6,725 ft). The trail consists of over 350 stone and concrete steps carved directly into the granite dome. Handrails line the exposed edges as the route climbs along the spine of the rock, offering continuous, unobstructed views across the San Joaquin Valley to the west and the high peaks of the Great Western Divide to the east. The summit viewing platform provides a 360-degree panorama of the Giant Forest plateau and the deep Middle Fork Kaweah River canyon below. Footing consists of uneven granite rock steps, narrow stone ledges, and concrete landings. The path is narrow with drop-offs on both sides, requiring cautious step placement, especially in wet, icy, or high-wind conditions.
