Prophetic Warning: Navigating the Flood of Fitnah in the Modern Era | Maulana Mubarak Sahib Rashadi

Respected elders, Islamic scholars, dignitaries of the city, and my dear young friends! As time is limited, I will share one important point in just five minutes. Regrettably, there are currently fifteen major trials (fitnahs) present that have the potential to deprive a person of their faith (Iman). Among the countless blessings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) upon us, one great favor is that he warned the Ummah in advance, stating that after him, trials would descend like raindrops. The Prophet (peace be upon him) likened these trials to rain because, just as one cannot count individual raindrops, these fitnahs would be far too numerous. Narrations also state that these trials will eventually enter our very homes. Normally, when it rains outside, a person runs indoors for shelter because the house provides protection. However, the Prophet (peace be upon him) foretold that these trials would not stay outside—they would penetrate the walls of our homes, testing and potentially stripping a person of their faith. What was foretold centuries ago, we are witnessing with our own eyes today. In 1974, a resolution was passed in the parliament of a neighboring country declaring Qadianis (the Ahmadiyya group) as non-Muslims. During those proceedings, Hazrat Maulana Mufti Mahmud (may Allah have mercy on him)—father of Maulana Fazlur Rehman—represented the Muslim community with great impact, answering all of their questions. When the decision was made that they were defined as a non-Muslim minority, Mirza Tahir (who later became their 4th caliph) remarked to Maulana Mufti Mahmud: "Today your numbers are large, so you have prevailed; but remember, a time will come when we will reach inside your bedrooms. Our doctrine and belief will enter inside your bedrooms."
