Mercedes-AMG GT2 in action at Monza Circuit: Start Up, Accelerations & Exhaust Sound

Finally managed to put together a video about another machine of the GT2 European Series, the Mercedes-AMG GT2. Probably the quietest modern V8 racing car currently in use, and I'm now almost certain that it all depends on that damned combo of twin-turbochargers in a hot-vee configuration (turbos are placed inside the 'V' between the cylinder banks) + the flat-plane crankshaft. See a similar problem with the Temerario GT3 now, but also the Porsche 963 LMDh wasn't the noisiest car of the field, despite very short, unmuffled exhaust pipes. The Mercedes-AMG GT2 was unveiled in December 2022, built and developed in order to be raced in SRO’s GT2 class (and the related championship, the GT2 European Series), born in 2020 with the aim to reduce aero and increases power over the GT3 class, making cars more accessible for drivers with less experience. The car features a 700hp/800Nm 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, dubbed the M178 LS2, developed for the AMG GT Black Series version. For road legal use, this engine has a slightly higher redline at 7,200 rpm compared to the AMG GT R's 7,000 rpm, and uses a flat-plane crankshaft instead of a cross-plane crankshaft, turning out in different firing order. The power is transmitted by means of a sequential 6-speed racing gearbox with modified gear ratios.
