stringing 101 - Mounting the Racket on the Stringing Machine

In this video we will be mounting the tennis racket on the stringing machine and getting it ready to be strung. We reviewed the pre-stringing tips and procedures and discussed key parts of the stringing machine and securing the racket to the machine. Quick Review: Pre-mounting steps: Clean Frame - Take note of: grommet / headguard condition, Cracks / stress marks, Condition of grip / overgrip, Put plastic over the grip , Make sure the buttcap of the racket has ‘logo’ facing up. A brief discussion on mounting the Racket - 2 point vs 6 point mounting. Lastly: Secure frame - Keep integrity of frame, don’t over tighten or under tighten and be careful not to damage frame at contact points. Frame integrity - Stress points and age of racket / number of stringings / condition of frame / leaving broken strings in the racket for prolonged time.
