The idea of "wandering" is captured by creating closely-related lines that ultimately fail to converge upon each other in various different ways, with respect to varying pitches, microtonal orientation, and rhythmic durations. The desired effect is a large collection of musical materials that not only wrap around the pulse, but also wrap around one another, resulting in seemingly oceanic textures that explore the context of the materials themselves.
