DISCLAIMER: This is not a Sterling Approved splice, this is my personal way of working with the cordage to form an eye. This is not an instructional video it is intended for entertainment purposes.
One of my favorite things to do with splicing is to take a cordage without a set of instructions and adopting difference techniques to create a splice that works with that rope. For Triad I am taking a splice that Teufelberger developed for Tachyon that I then adopted to Yale Blue 32. It is a core diminishing splice which is necessary in my opinion for these 32 strand double braid ropes. If you tried to do it without reducing the core is seems like it would be an enourmous pain to extract and bury. Mainly because the tight braid of the cover restricts expansion and cannot allow as much passage as a 24 strand cover.
Always test your splices, especially the experimental ones. Arbsession is a great resource. Another possibility is if you have a facility that does rigging for cranes they have equipment to destructive test slings, less ideal but still an option.
