Formed in New York in 1985, The Optic Nerve combined Byrds-style jangly guitars, garage rock attitude, folk-rock songwriting and Velvet Underground cool into a uniquely authentic take on 60s-inspired psychedelia. Led by songwriter and guitarist Rob Smith, the band became underground favorites among fans of garage revival and paisley underground sounds, developing a timeless sound deeply rooted in 1965-66 folk-rock and garage psych. Featuring twelve-string guitars, vocal harmonies, fuzz guitars and melodic songwriting, “Lotta Nerve” perfectly captures the spirit of classic American garage-folk while sounding fresh and personal. Officially reissued by Guerssen Records.
