Walking through Galle feels like instantly stepping out of Sri Lanka and straight into a classic European seaside town! In this episode, I check into my new hotel, explore Portuguese and Dutch heritage landmarks, get caught in a sudden coastal downpour, indulge in an epic authentic Sri Lankan dinner buffet, and discover a legendary local ice cream shop filled with messages left by travelers from all over the world. ============================= 📍 Highlights of My First Day in Galle: From Jungle to Coast: I kicked off the morning taking a quick Tuk-Tuk from Sinharaja to catch a local bus heading straight to Galle. European Vibe & Authentic Italian Lunch: After checking into my hotel and giving a quick room tour, I walked through the charming streets of Galle Fort. I stopped by a cozy Italian restaurant for a delicious freshly made pasta dish and finally enjoyed a proper hot cup of coffee after days in the remote jungle! Historic Landmarks & Sudden Rain: I headed toward the ocean defense walls to see ancient Dutch-era cannons and historic lighthouse viewpoints. Right in the middle of exploring, a tropical rainstorm hit, sending everyone running for cover!
