Panna is the twenty-second Tiger Reserve of India and fifth in Madhya Pradesh. It is situated in the Vindhyan Ranges and spreads over the Panna and Chattarpur districts in the north of the state. Panna National Park was created in 1981. The government of India declared it a Project Tiger Reserve in 1994. There are still many villages in the buffer zone of the Panna Tiger Reserve, and the Indian government is trying to relocate the people of those villages to other places. Because Indian black bears attack the villagers.
