This DIY swing set has become my kids’ favorite thing I’ve built this year!
We didn’t want another basic swing set, but we also didn’t want to spend thousands on a bigger playset. Here’s what I built, what it cost, and the post-spacing mistake I’d avoid next time.
It isn’t perfect, but seeing the kids enjoy it makes me glad I gave it a go.
MATERIALS & COSTS
• Four 6×6×12-ft ground-contact treated posts: $214.00
• Twelve 2×6×10-ft treated boards: $160.80
• Six 50-lb bags of QUIKRETE: $24.00
• 3-inch deck screws: $30.00
• Gorilla Wood Adhesive: $5.68
• Two heavy-duty angle brackets: $72.00
• Two swing seats: $70.00
• Two swing-hanger sets: $88.00
• Trapeze swing bar and chains: $27.00
• Kids’ rope swing: $28.00
TOTAL MATERIAL COST: $719.48
These are the prices I paid. Current prices may vary.
