This was the "big boy" 3rd Gen to finish out the '80s Domestic Performance era... rated at 240hp (5hp under the last IROC-Z model of 1990) and ran solid mid 14 second 1/4 mile times off the showroom floor (and flirted with 13.9 times with simply timing advance, K&N filter and lowered tire pressure.
