The Hunt for Red October (1990) Was Insanely Suspenseful! RIP Sam Neill - First Time Watch Reaction!

Okay guys - my previous experience with Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan character was Harrison Ford (who I love) in "Patriot Games." And while I definitely am a fan of that movie, I have to admit, I may like Alec Baldwin in that role more. Is that blasphemous??? Of course, my feelings may be colored by the fact that this movie was fantastic from start to finish. It was incredibly thoughtful, suspenseful, and made you really feel like you were with them in the submarines. Sean Connery was wonderful and he and Baldwin did a great job playing out the dance between these two characters. The supporting cast, including the great Sam Neill (RIP), James Earl Jones, Tim Curry, and Scott Glenn were also excellent. This was a fairly long movie but it seemed to fly by! What did you guys think and should I watch "Clear and Present Danger"?
