I’m painting the Anchorite Shrine from Trench Crusade, using a combination of oil paints and enamel inks to create a grimy, weathered, battle-worn finish. In this miniature painting video, I take the Anchorite Shrine from a raw model to a suitably filthy piece of the Trench Crusade battlefield. I’ll be using oil washes, oil paints, enamel inks, streaking effects, grime, rust, and weathering to build up layers of texture and atmosphere. The goal is a miniature that looks like it has been sitting in the trenches for far too long — covered in dirt, oil, corrosion, and the accumulated filth of war.
