*RARE* Boeing 757 at Reykjavik Regional Airport, RKV!

During a recent trip to Iceland and staying in Reykjavik I was fortunate enough to witness something that only happens a handful of times a year at most. A Boeing 757 flying in & out of Reykjavik regional airport! NOT Keflavik the main international airport of Iceland. This airport has a short runway of just over 5,000ft and jets aircraft are uncommon. Usually just turbo props on domestic flights and the odd private jet & general aviation movements. The reason for the 757 visiting was due to the weather. The previous day had been abysmal. Driving rain and high winds and low visibility resulting in the cancellation of a number of domestic flights within Iceland. That’s where the 757 came in. So pick up the pieces from the previous days disruption the 757 positioned empty from Keflavik to operate a flight to & from Akureyri. Before positioning empty back to Keflavik. So I managed to catch both arrivals & departures of it! As well as a few other movements at Reykjavik local airport. It had drawn the attention of a few spectators at Reykjavik who told me just how rare & uncommon seeing a larger commercial jet in Reykjavik actually was.
