X4 Foundations: 9.0 Beta 7 - The Shark carrier (with fighter complement) vs (over) 21 Phoenix

Hello everybody, My usual combat tests are against xenon, but in this one my "problem" is.... 21 (!?) teladi Phoenix destroyers. I need the xenon to cause some small chaos in that sector, and that is not gonna hapen with such a fleet at the gate. My "tools" for the job: 1 Shark + 40 bomber Baracuda, full plasma + light torpedoes + 40 interceptor Mako, full ion gatling Observations: fighters with full plasma make for some fine bombers need to keep the carrier constantly on the move against so many destroyers, plus their AI seem to favor engaging the carrier that launched the fighters, just like their xenon counterparts I've struggle a bit with the map and target selection. I've consider it necessary to order all the fighters to engage one destroyer at the time, especially the ones in close proximity, could not relly on the "attack all targets in the area", until the very end...or I could from the beginning, but I was a bit scared :P I had some limited succes shooting down missiles with turrets at "attack missiles first" settings priority orders are a lifesaver, is one of the features I enjoy most in 9.0, along with AI destroyers finally being competent against xenon capitals, and other destroyers By the end of it, I've lost 3 Baracuda and 3 Mako...not bad. Seem that with all the 9.0 nerfing/buffing shenannigans, my favorite, solo super carrier with fighters, gameplay, is still viable, and if the devs will finally fix the issue of my S bombers slamming the hull of xenon capitals, I will be a happy camper with this update, as well. PS: was planing to test my terran fleet against the 21 destroyers, in case the Shark would fail, but it did not, so I overwrite the save, and sadly, that means no other fleets test against that target fleet. :( Well, that's it for now, see you in the next one. :) About me: I like to share my X4 Foundations experiences, some because they are really amazing, some because they are really anoying.
