The following day, Sunday the 27th of September, there was an event at Perth Stadium in the afternoon, which again meant there were some unusual train operations. Showgrounds and Ellenbrook express trains only ran up until 2pm, after which trains from Ellenbrook pulled into Perth Station platform 6 and then turned around and operated a TCL service to Cockburn Central, meaning that the Ellenbrook and Thornlie-Cockburn Lines were effectively through-running for probably the first time ever. This also resulted in a 6-CAR A-SERIES being allocated to run the Ellenbrook Line and Showgrounds services in the morning, which was not seen last year at any time other than after the fireworks at night, meaning this was likely the first-ever daylight 6-car A-Series on the Ellenbrook Line.
