James Outman may need to have his eyesight checked; he's too talented to be striking out constantly

Toledo Mud Hens outfielder James Outman had another bad outing vs. the St. Paul Saints, striking out twice and hitting into a double play in four plate appearances, 8/28/26. He has struck out six times in two games for the Mud Hens. Right now, he appears lost to me at the plate All these strikeouts aren't vintage Outman. Maybe his eyesight should be checked. Maybe it has something to do with him having been hit on the chin with a pitch a few weeks ago. He was striking out frequently before being hit on the chin by a pitch a few weeks. But now after his chin wore a pitch, he's striking out even more. It could be time for Outman to visit an eye doctor and be fitted for prescription goggles. He wore prescription goggles at times when he was with the Los Angeles Dodgers, including when he made a great defensive game saving catch in the outfield last year to preserve a Dodgers victory over the Minnesota Twins. An irony about that great catch is two days later, he was dealt to the Twins. The Twins gave up on him and let him pass through waivers with the Tigers claiming him. The Tigers sent him through waivers and this time, nobody claimed him, so they sent him down to Toledo. The Mud Hens should place him on the 10 day IL(eye sight problems), have him fit for prescription goggles, then send him to Single-A Lakeland for an "injury" rehab stint and being him back to Toledo. If new prescription goggles can't keep Outman from striking out at the rate of six times for every eight plate appearances, then maybe God has another occupation in mind for him. Like maybe doing television commercials for hair sprays and Head and Shoulders . Or maybe Outman is destined to turn out like Chuck Connors and go from being a major league baseball player to a Hollywood actor. He has that distinguished look with his hair and I can see many women heading to the box office to see his movies. This video belongs to MiLB.
