What Really Happened at Dyatlov Pass?

In 1959, nine young hikers in the Ural Mountains cut their tent open from the inside and walked out into the snow in their socks. None of them came back. For sixty years, people blamed a secret weapon, UFOs, even a yeti. Then two scientists, Johan Gaume and Alexander Puzrin, used snow-simulation code adapted from Disney's Frozen to test a different idea: a small slab avalanche, set up by the cut the hikers dug into the slope for their tent. This is what they think happened, why the old objections fall away, and what is still unexplained. Theories are labelled as theories. Nothing graphic is shown: the nine hikers are remembered with respect. Illustrations and narration are AI-generated.
