No Rest at Mount Moriah (Alternate Version)

No Rest at Mount Moriah (Alternate Version) Lyrics at bottom of page ⬇️ “No Rest at Mount Moriah” was inspired by the haunting history of Mount Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia and the Jonathan Gerlach grave robbery case in Yeadon, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1855, the enormous cemetery was abandoned by its owners in 2011 after years of deterioration. Volunteers have since worked tirelessly to reclaim the grounds, uncover monuments, restore graves and preserve the stories of approximately 180,000 people buried there. This alternate version presents the story with a different musical arrangement while retaining its themes of abandonment, desecration, remembrance and the determination to protect the dead.
