Amtrak P42 Locomotives on Pacific Surfliner Trains

The Pacific Surfliner is one of the busiest routes in Amtrak's system. While there is a dedicated fleet of diesel-electric locomotives for the service, General Electric P42DC units are occasionally used to fill in when additional power is needed. In this video, we will be taking a look at these units pulling the Bi-level Surfliner trains up and down the California coast.
