The Entire History of Germany | Full Documentary

From the Germanic tribes that defied Rome to the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989, this is the entire history of Germany. The story begins with Arminius annihilating three Roman legions at Teutoburg in 9 CE, then follows Charlemagne's coronation and the Holy Roman Empire through Luther's Reformation of 1517 and the devastation of the Thirty Years' War. It traces Prussia's rise under Frederick the Great and Bismarck's masterstroke of unification in 1871, then the catastrophes of the twentieth century: WWI, the fragile Weimar Republic, Hitler's rise, WWII, and the Holocaust. Finally, it follows a divided Germany — the FRG and the GDR — through the shadow of the Berlin Wall, from 1961 to its dramatic fall on 9 November 1989 and reunification in 1990.
