Before You Publish on Amazon KDP: 5 Things to Check

Ready to publish your paperback on Amazon KDP? Before you hit Publish, check these five things that can affect how your finished book looks and feels to readers. In this video, I walk you through a practical self-publishing checklist, starting with ordering a physical proof copy. Holding your printed book lets you evaluate it from your reader’s perspective and spot problems you might miss on a screen. 📚 MY SELF-PUBLISHING COURSE Write, Format & Publish Your Book: https://inkroads.gumroad.com/l/mpruc 💻 EXPLORE ATTICUS Book writing and formatting software: https://www.atticus.io/ HERE’S WHAT WE COVER: 1. GET A PHYSICAL PROOF COPY Review a printed copy before publishing so you can check the actual reading experience. 2. CHECK READABILITY Look at your font size, line spacing, and overall reading comfort. Can someone comfortably read several pages without straining? 3. INSPECT YOUR MARGINS Check the space around your text, especially near the binding. Make sure nothing sits too close to the edges. 4. REVIEW CHAPTER OPENINGS AND PAGE NUMBERS Look for inconsistent headings, awkward page breaks, unexpected blank pages, and page numbering problems. 5. CHECK THE ENTIRE COVER Review the front, spine, and back. Check the wording, placement, and readability just as carefully as you check the pages inside.
