At just 16, Dana is a proud PKU warrior with dreams of her own—and a story that shows how early detection can change the course of a child's life. Born with Phenylketonuria (PKU), Dana was identified through newborn screening and received the early diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and continuous care she needed to thrive. With the unwavering support of her family and healthcare team, she has grown up pursuing her studies, sharing her talent in singing, and actively participating in her community. Today, Dana hopes that her story will inspire other children with conditions identified through newborn screening to keep dreaming and believing in what they can achieve. A few drops of blood changed her life. Now, she dreams of one day changing the lives of other babies like her.
