Beneath The Steel — Duvalie's Song for Rean (Trails of Cold Steel - AI Fan Song)

“Beneath the Steel” is a romantic tribute to Duvalie the Swift and her unspoken feelings for Rean Schwarzer from The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel. This song explores the vulnerability hidden behind Duvalie’s pride — the heart that beats beneath the armor. Duvalie is strong. Loyal. Unyielding. But beneath the steel lies hesitation, admiration, and a love she struggles to voice. This track captures that tension — pride and affection, rivalry and respect — set to a romantic rock arrangement that builds toward an emotional release. Lyrics: [Verse 1] I crossed your blade in anger, Called you reckless, blind, and weak. A knight bound to her master’s cause With no soft words to speak. But every time you rose again, Through wounds no one should bear, I found myself drawn closer still— Though I’d never say I care. [Pre-Chorus] I swore to serve the Maiden, To never turn aside. Yet standing in your shadow, My heart refused to hide. [Chorus] Rean, Ashen Chevalier, You carry pain I can’t ignore. Through curse and war, through endless night, You fought for all, yet asked for more. I’ll guard your path, I’ll draw my blade, Even if fate calls it betrayal made. Beneath the steel, beneath the vow… It’s you I’m fighting for now. [Verse 2] I mocked your selfless burdens, I scolded every choice. But I was only hiding The tremor in my voice. For when the world turned dark and cold, And every bond was tried, I found myself not facing you… But standing at your side. [Pre-Chorus] A knight is sworn to duty, To steel that will not bend. Yet you became the reason I fight until the end. [Bridge] Even if my lord should call, Even if the heavens fall, I’ll never turn my eyes from you— My heart has found its truth. [Final Chorus] Rean, Ashen Chevalier, Though once I swore to stand opposed, Through fire, curse, and endless strife, It’s you my spirit chose. No oath, no chain, no master’s claim— Could ever tear me from your flame. Beneath the steel, beneath the vow… It’s you I’m fighting for now.
