Jackie Martling handed out invitations to his Fourth of July party in front of the entire staff. The parking attendant got one. The delivery guy got one. Scott the engineer did not. Scott insists he isn't upset, and nobody in the room believes him. Gary Dell'Abate explains the difference between forgetting somebody and simply never thinking of them. Ralph Cirella turns out to be off the list too. Then Howard digs up the Christmas years earlier when Scott sat at his console with a wrapped gift for every single person on the show and went home with nothing — the last year he ever bought anybody anything. Gary still owns the alarm clock. In the second half Jackie gets pulled out of the studio and screamed at over the phone, and his wife calls the show directly to explain her side of the guest list.
