(#kawsarhosain) The late President Ziaur Rahman personally initiated a self-reliance canal-digging project in Barishal, aimed at resolving water-related challenges in agricultural fields. Over time, however, these canals have turned into dumping grounds for waste, leaving hundreds of acres of land uncultivated. The government is now re-excavating two such canals, bringing smiles to the faces of local farmers. Agricultural experts note that with regular care and maintenance, these canals can be kept functional—a development that would benefit not only the farmers but the local community as a whole. Jamuna Television, also known as Jamuna TV, is a 24-hour news and current affairs television channel in Bangladesh.
