After weeks on the road, sometimes all you want is a quiet place to park, a beautiful view, and absolutely nothing on the agenda. Welcome to Lake Umatilla, along the Columbia River in Oregon! Bill, Hastings, and I found ourselves a spot among the sagebrush, with blue water, golden hills, and a sky that seemed determined to show off. No hookups. No fancy amenities. Just a little truck camper, a whole lot of scenery, and the freedom to do absolutely nothing productive. Which, as it turns out, is something I'm exceptionally good at.
