How does Kishtwar celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi? On 26 August 2026, we stepped out to document a special day in Kishtwar from the gathering at Jamia Masjid to the procession through the streets and finally towards the Dargah. This is not just a video of a procession. It is our attempt to show the people, the atmosphere, the traditions and the emotions behind this day. In this documentary, we walk through Kishtwar, meet young people, speak with religious voices and ordinary people, and try to understand what Eid Milad-un-Nabi means to them. For many Muslims, Eid Milad-un-Nabi is a day to remember the birth and life of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and to remember his teachings of kindness, compassion, peace, justice and helping others. We also look at some of the issues being discussed by people during the gathering and hear different voices from the ground. This documentary is not made to speak for everyone. It is made to listen. From Jamia Masjid Kishtwar to the streets of the town and towards the Dargah, this is a glimpse of Eid Milad-un-Nabi as we witnessed it in Kishtwar. For people living outside Kishtwar, we hope this film gives you a small look into our town, our people and the way this special day is observed here.
