Every Time Jesus Appeared After He Rose, Explained in Order

Early one Sunday Jesus stands alive beside his own tomb, and a weeping woman takes him for the gardener. She is not the only one who will look straight at him and not know him. Put every account side by side, count each meeting only once, even when two books tell it, and you get twelve meetings. We walk all twelve in order, one at a time: Mary Magdalene at the empty tomb, the women on the road, Peter, two travellers on the road to Emmaus, the locked room on the first evening, Thomas a week later, seven of his followers out fishing on the Sea of Galilee, the eleven on a mountain, more than five hundred at once, James, the last farewell near the Mount of Olives, and finally Saul on the road to Damascus. At each one we read what the texts actually say, including the lines people find awkward: some doubted, and more than once they didn't know that it was Jesus. By the end you will be able to list every appearance the texts record, in the order the accounts point to, and say who was there, who the Gospels say saw him first, and who saw him last. If you have looked up the resurrection appearances of Jesus, what happened after the resurrection, or who saw Jesus after he rose, this walks the whole list in one place, and, where the texts tell it, what gave him away. 📖 KEY VERSE "To these he also showed himself alive after he suffered, by many proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking about God’s Kingdom."
