What makes Louisville's slabs different, and why does the project use post-tensioning? This week's site update goes beyond showing progress. It takes us onto the Terrace Floor and inside one of the key engineering and construction methods being used across the project. On L05, the Terrace Floor has been fully cast, with post-tensioning cables and reinforcement bars incorporated to strengthen the slab. Work is also progressing upward, with the vertical elements of L06 already taking shape. The update also takes us through how construction is being staggered across sections of the slab as the team works toward a 21-day slab-to-slab turnaround. Floor-by-Floor Progress: • L06: Formwork and reinforcement in progress, alongside the arrangement of post-tensioning cables. • L07: Casting completed for the 2nd Typical Residential Floor. • L08: Reinforcement, formwork, and casting in progress for vertical elements and slabs. • L09: Arrangement of reinforcement for the 4th Typical Residential Floor has begun. The engineering team also explains why post-tensioning was adopted for the typical slabs, including how the system supports wider column-to-column spans and manages structural loads. From the Terrace Floor to L09, this is another look at how Louisville is progressing, one stage at a time. 🔔 Subscribe for more Louisville construction updates, project milestones, and engineering insights.
