Three refills and no answers — 1940s Noir Jazz

Vintage noir jazz for late night studying, focus and sleep — over an hour of 1940s all-night diner ambience, a lamp over the counter, steam off the cup and no one else in. The call came in at midnight and Felix has been on this stool ever since. Hat still on, coat still buttoned, one eye on the door behind him in the reflection of the counter. The waitress stopped asking and just leaves the pot. Three refills in, the only thing he knows for certain is that whoever he is waiting for is late — and that people who are late in this city usually have a reason.
